Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has traded words with human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore following criticisms aimed at Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Sowore had openly criticized Governor Adeleke’s administration, questioning his capacity to lead the state effectively. “The problem with Adeleke’s leadership is that the guy is not even in control of his government,” Sowore remarked. Referencing the governor’s past appearance at a television town hall programme, Sowore described it as disappointing, adding, “As a person, Ademola has nothing upstairs.”
The comments drew a swift reaction from Davido, who is the governor’s nephew. Responding to the remarks on social media, the Afrobeats star dismissed the politician with a blunt insult, calling him “Arindin”—a Yoruba term used to describe someone regarded as foolish or lacking sense.
The public exchange has intensified the ongoing debate surrounding the governance of Osun State, drawing mixed reactions from political observers and social media users alike.
