The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has recalled previously suspended officials of the FCT Administration, warning them to adhere strictly to civil service rules and uphold discipline in the discharge of their duties.
The recall was announced in a statement circulated on Tuesday via the verified social media handle @politicsngr, which quoted the minister as stressing that the decision to reinstate the affected officials should not be mistaken for tolerance of misconduct.
According to the statement, Wike emphasised that the FCT Administration would no longer condone acts of indiscipline, negligence or abuse of office, noting that the suspension was initially imposed to allow for internal reviews and corrective measures.
The minister warned that any official found wanting in the future would face stiffer sanctions, including possible dismissal, regardless of rank or influence.
He reiterated his commitment to restoring professionalism, accountability and efficiency across all departments and agencies under the FCT Administration, adding that public officers must remember that their primary responsibility is to serve residents of the capital with integrity.
Wike also urged the recalled officials to see the reinstatement as an opportunity to demonstrate renewed dedication to service, cautioning that the administration would maintain zero tolerance for actions capable of undermining public trust.
