The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas (retd.), has outlined the state’s 2025 budget plans, which will focus on sectors including healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and job creation.
Ibas shared these details on Thursday during a meeting with a delegation from the Rivers State National Assembly caucus, led by Senator Barinada Mpigi, at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Following the Supreme Court’s ruling on the state’s budget, Ibas emphasized that efforts are underway to draft a new budget that will prioritize healthcare, education, social services, and continued infrastructure development.
Ibas also highlighted the state’s efforts in fostering peace and economic stability, noting that with the support of security agencies, Rivers residents can now enjoy a safer and more secure environment.
In his address, Ibas reaffirmed his commitment to creating a transparent and inclusive budget that will invest in critical sectors such as agriculture, technology, and job creation. He also stressed the importance of legislative support in achieving these goals.
Ibas pointed out that community engagement, dialogue, and reconciliation have been essential strategies to restore peace in the state, especially after the state of emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu.
The Sole Administrator’s commitment to promoting unity and stability in Rivers State continues to be a key part of his governance agenda.
