Nigeria’s Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win overwhelming support from the South-East in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the 18th edition of her free medical and surgical outreach in Umunneochi, Abia State, Ms Onyejeocha said Tinubu’s ongoing reforms would translate into stronger political backing across the region.
“For his reforms to take root and truly benefit the people, he needs the full support of Nigerians for two terms,” she told journalists. “I am confident that in 2027, President Tinubu will secure 100 per cent of the votes in the South-East. Abia is a progressive state, and I believe my party, the APC, will perform very well here.”
Onyejeocha, a former lawmaker representing Umunneochi/Isuikwuato Federal Constituency, explained that her medical outreach reflects her passion for improving the welfare of her people, particularly those in rural and underserved communities.
This year’s programme, hosted at the Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Medical Centre in Amuda-Isuochi, was initially planned as a week-long event but has been extended due to the high turnout of patients.
“It’s not just about supporting the government,” she added. “A healthy community is a wealthy community. If too many people are sick, development suffers because families spend more on burials than on growth. While government is doing its part, I believe it is my responsibility as a minister to add value and make life better for my people.”
