Former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed has dismissed speculation of a rift with the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, insisting that their relationship remains rooted in mutual respect.
Speaking amid growing political commentary, Datti said no individual or group would succeed in creating division between him and Obi.
“Nobody will cause a problem between me and my boss, Peter Obi. I still have respect for him,” he said.
His remarks come as discussions continue over the future direction of the Labour Party and the political alignment of its key figures ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Datti’s statement is expected to ease speculation surrounding his relationship with Obi, reaffirming that respect and loyalty remain central to their political association despite ongoing public debate.
