President Bola Tinubu has removed a key ally of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike from the governing board of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), as part of a broader round of appointments across federal agencies.

The presidency announced that Dakorinama Alabo George, widely regarded as a loyalist of Wike, has been replaced by former House of Representatives member Chisom Dike in the latest reshuffle.

The appointments, unveiled on Saturday, also saw several new board members named to strategic federal agencies, in what observers view as another move by the Tinubu administration to recalibrate leadership within key government institutions.

While the presidency did not provide reasons for George’s removal, the decision has fuelled political speculation given Wike’s prominent role in the administration and his influence within Nigeria’s political landscape.

The latest appointments underscore Tinubu’s continued efforts to reshape the leadership of federal agencies as his administration pursues its governance agenda.

No immediate reaction had been issued by Wike or George at the time of publication.
