Spiritual leader Primate Elijah Ayodele has called on the Lagos State Government to immediately prohibit the activities of commercial motorcycle operators (okadas), street beggars and wheelbarrow pushers, warning that the state faces growing security threats.
According to Ayodele, terrorist elements have already infiltrated Lagos and are allegedly disguising themselves among informal street operators and other vulnerable groups. He urged the government to take swift and decisive action, arguing that tighter regulations are necessary to safeguard lives and prevent potential security breaches.
“The terrorists are already in Lagos,” the cleric warned, calling for urgent measures to curb what he described as increasing security risks across the state.
His remarks come amid heightened concerns over insecurity in parts of Nigeria, with authorities continuing efforts to strengthen surveillance and public safety. However, Ayodele did not publicly present evidence to support his assertion that terrorists have entered Lagos through these groups.
The Lagos State Government has yet to officially respond to the cleric’s comments.
