Nigerian style icon Temi Otedola has opened up about the reason behind holding her white wedding with music star Mr Eazi in Iceland, answering questions and backlash from fans online.
Temi revealed on social media that their decision to wed in Iceland was inspired by a memorable experience during their first visit to the country in 2021. She stated, “Since our first trip in 2021, we fell in love with the people, nature, and energy of this country, so for our White Wedding celebrations, we decided to share our special place with our special people.”
The couple’s private ceremony took place at Reykjavik’s Hallgrimskirkja Church, where they celebrated their union surrounded by close friends and family.
Temi also highlighted the grandeur of her wedding wardrobe, explaining that her second outfit for the traditional wedding reception was a labour of love. She wrote that seven embroidery artisans, three couturiers, and five hand labourers dedicated 4,590 hours crafting her gown and cape by hand to match the extravagance of the event’s setting.
The revelation sparked varied reactions from social media users. While some praised Temi’s style and the uniqueness of the choice, others questioned the decision in relation to cultural expectations and family traditions.
