Senator Sunday Steve Karimi has successfully completed a N300 million, 288-seater Modern Digital Learning and Test Centre (CBT Centre) at Titcombe College Egbe, Kogi State. This initiative is poised to transform the academic landscape for students in the region, particularly those from the Okun-speaking areas.

Sen. Karimi, a proud alumnus of Titcombe College and the current representative of Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has long recognized the educational challenges faced by local students. In response, he partnered with the Titcombe College Egbe Old Students Association (TCEOSA) to bring this visionary project to fruition.
Established in 1951 by missionaries, Titcombe College has a storied history of producing distinguished Nigerians. The new CBT Centre, which boasts modern amenities, includes an adjoining 500-seater chapel to serve as a waiting area during examinations. Community leaders and stakeholders have hailed the facility as a premier educational resource, meeting the highest standards set by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Sen. Karimi, who chairs the Senate Service Committee, has consistently emphasized his commitment to people-centered representation. The newly constructed facility features a meticulously remodeled interior that preserves the college’s rich heritage while incorporating cutting-edge technology.
Equipped with modern conveniences, the centre includes separate male and female restrooms with running water, high-speed internet access, and a robust power supply supported by an inverter with 90 solar panels and a 40KVA soundproof diesel generator. To ensure a conducive learning environment, the centre is also fitted with air conditioning, ample ventilation, and bright lighting.
The CBT Centre aims to alleviate the burden on secondary school students who previously had to travel to Lokoja or even Ilorin to register and take examinations, particularly JAMB. It features fast, wide-screen laptops (core i5) in private cubicles, as well as large smart TVs for online training and meetings.
Sen. Karimi stated that the facility, which has absorbed over N300 million in funding, represents a promise fulfilled to the people of his constituency. He expressed gratitude to TCEOSA for initiating the project and allowing him to see it through to completion.
With the commissioning date yet to be announced, the people of Egbe and surrounding local governments eagerly await the official opening of this transformative educational resource.
