First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu has announced a ₦1 billion donation through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) to support families displaced by the recent violent attacks in Benue State.
The announcement was made on Tuesday during her condolence visit to the state, held at the New Banquet Hall of the Benue State Government House. The visit followed the tragic attack on the Yelewata community in June, which claimed over 100 lives and left hundreds displaced.
Speaking on behalf of the governing council of the RHI, Mrs Tinubu said the donation is aimed at helping affected families rebuild their lives, return to productive livelihoods, and secure a more stable future.
“RHI will be making a donation of ₦1 billion to assist displaced families in getting back on their feet, resuming their means of livelihood, and pursuing a better life,” she stated.
“This gesture is in line with our mission as captured in our motto: Towards a Better Life for Families.”
The First Lady reaffirmed the Renewed Hope Initiative’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities across Nigeria and promoting long-term recovery and resilience for those affected by conflict and displacement.
