The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) has issued a stern warning to prominent members, including Nyesom Wike and Ademola Adeleke, for publicly endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The NWC, in a statement by National Publicity Secretary Hon. Debo Ologunagba, condemned such actions as breaches of Section 10(6) of the PDP Constitution, which prohibits aligning with rival parties like the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Key figures, including Wike, Adeleke, Ladi Adebutu, and Ayodele Fayose, were singled out for their pro-Tinubu statements, which the NWC says fuel division and threaten the party’s electoral prospects.
Citing Section 59(1), the NWC issued formal reprimands and demanded retractions, urging members to unite ahead of the PDP National Convention on 15–16 November 2025 in Ibadan.
