Nigeria’s Federal Government has welcomed the suspension of the industrial action embarked upon by teachers in Oyo State, describing the development as a positive step towards restoring normal academic activities across public schools in the state.
The government said the decision to call off the strike would help minimise disruptions to learning and ensure that students return to the classroom without further delay.
While commending the parties involved for embracing dialogue, the Federal Government expressed hope that the issues which triggered the industrial action would be resolved through sustained engagement and constructive negotiations to prevent future disputes.
The suspension of the strike is expected to bring relief to thousands of students and parents who were affected by the disruption to the state’s education system.
