Former Deputy President of Nigeria’s 9th Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has formally declared his intention to contest the Delta Central Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
Omo-Agege said he would run on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), signalling a political comeback after his previous tenure in the upper legislative chamber.
In his declaration, the former senator reaffirmed his commitment to representing the interests of Delta Central, while positioning his candidacy within the broader goals of the APC ahead of the 2027 polls.
There has been no immediate reaction from opposition parties or other potential contenders for the seat.
Omo-Agege served as Deputy Senate President from 2019 to 2023 and remains a key figure within the APC in Delta State.
