The presidential candidate of the Accord Party in the 2023 general election, Dr AbdulMalik Adebayo Olawepo-Hashim, has accused Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke of undermining the Accord Party, urging members in the state to resist what he described as anti-party activities.
In a strongly worded statement, Olawepo-Hashim alleged that Governor Adeleke had failed to honour the principles and understanding that guided his association with the Accord Party, accusing the governor of actions capable of weakening the party’s structure and credibility in Osun State.
The former presidential candidate called on party leaders, executives and loyal members across the state to remain steadfast and refuse to be drawn into activities that could compromise the Accord Party’s identity or internal cohesion.
He stressed that the party’s future must not be sacrificed for personal or political interests, insisting that discipline, loyalty and respect for the party’s constitution should remain the guiding principles for all members.
Olawepo-Hashim further urged stakeholders to protect the integrity of the Accord Party by rejecting every form of anti-party conduct, adding that the strength of any political organisation lies in the commitment of its members to its ideals and democratic processes.
He maintained that the Accord Party remains focused on offering credible leadership and an alternative political platform, expressing confidence that members would remain united despite the current disagreements.
The development comes amid heightened political realignments ahead of future electoral contests, with observers closely watching developments within political parties across the country.
Neither Governor Adeleke nor his aides had responded to the allegations at the time of filing this report.
