A new $450 million steel manufacturing firm, Stellar Steel Company Limited, is poised to commence operations in Ogun State by mid-2026.

The investment is expected to significantly boost Nigeria’s industrial sector, creating hundreds of jobs and strengthening local steel production capacity. The plant, once operational, will contribute to reducing the nation’s dependence on imported steel and support infrastructure development.

Industry analysts say the move could position Ogun State as a key hub for steel production in West Africa, with ripple effects across construction, manufacturing, and export markets.

Further details on the plant’s location, capacity, and recruitment plans are expected in the coming months.
