Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, is set to chair a high-level gathering of opposition political leaders today, April 25, in a summit aimed at strengthening unity among opposition parties.
The meeting, tagged the National Summit of All Opposition Political Party Leaders, will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Oyo State Government House in Ibadan.
The event is being hosted by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and is expected to bring together key figures from major opposition parties across the country.
According to organisers, the summit is themed “That We May Work Together for a United Opposition to Sustain Our Democracy”, reflecting growing calls for greater coordination among political forces outside the ruling party.
The gathering comes at a time of intensified political realignments ahead of future elections, with stakeholders seeking common ground on democratic consolidation and national development priorities.
