The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has alerted the public to the existence of a fraudulent website falsely promoting recruitment for “INEC Ad-hoc Staff Recruitment 2026.”
In an official statement, the Commission described the website as entirely fake and unauthorised, stressing that it had no involvement in its creation or operation.
“The Commission did not approve or originate the link currently being circulated,” INEC clarified, urging Nigerians to refrain from engaging with the site or submitting any personal information through it.
According to the Commission, providing sensitive details on unverified platforms poses serious risks, including identity theft and other cybercrimes.
INEC reiterated that all legitimate recruitment exercises and official communications would be announced exclusively through its verified website and recognised public channels.
The Commission advised citizens to remain vigilant and always verify the authenticity of information—especially regarding employment opportunities—before taking any action.
For clarification or further enquiries, the public can contact INEC through the following official telephone lines: 09050858629, 09050858675, and 09050858649.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and public trust, INEC urged Nigerians to disregard online scams falsely attributed to the Commission and to rely only on information from its official platforms.
