The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) is hosting a crucial pre-bid webinar today as part of preparations for Nigeria’s 2025 Oil and Gas Licensing Round, offering prospective investors detailed guidance on how to participate in the highly anticipated exercise.
The virtual session, scheduled for 10:00am West Africa Time, is designed to walk bidders through the licensing framework, including eligibility criteria, bid package preparation, submission procedures and evaluation timelines. The webinar is expected to attract local and international investors seeking to acquire stakes in Nigeria’s upstream oil and gas sector.
According to the commission, the 2025 Licensing Round features 50 oil and gas blocks spread across onshore, shallow water, deepwater and frontier basins, underscoring the government’s push to expand exploration activities and boost hydrocarbon reserves.
The webinar follows an in-person pre-bid conference held earlier in January 2026 in Lagos, where industry stakeholders engaged directly with regulators on technical, commercial and regulatory issues surrounding the licensing round.
NUPRC has reiterated its commitment to transparency, competitiveness and investor-friendly processes, noting that the webinar will also provide participants with an opportunity to seek clarifications ahead of bid submissions.
Interested parties are required to register online to participate in the virtual session, as the commission continues its outreach to attract credible investors and deepen confidence in Nigeria’s upstream petroleum industry.
