The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has prohibited the use of vehicles with tinted glass in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), directing security operatives to begin strict enforcement as part of renewed efforts to tackle rising insecurity.

The directive, announced on [date], forms part of a broader security strategy aimed at curbing criminal activities, including kidnapping, armed robbery and the use of unregistered or concealed vehicles for unlawful operations.

Police authorities said the move is intended to strengthen public safety and improve law enforcement’s ability to identify occupants of vehicles during routine patrols and security checks.

Motorists found flouting the directive risk having their vehicles impounded and may face prosecution in accordance with existing traffic and security regulations.

The Nigeria Police Force urged residents of the FCT to comply with the order, stressing that the measure is designed to enhance security and protect lives and property across the nation’s capital.
