Security analyst Alex Barbir has warned that the scale and coordination of recent attacks across Nigeria point to a deepening national security crisis that resembles a domestic war.

Speaking on the growing wave of violence, Barbir said the pattern and frequency of assaults show a level of organisation that goes beyond isolated incidents, raising concerns about the country’s internal stability.

“War is at home right now in Nigeria,” he said, stressing that the nature of the attacks suggests a sustained and coordinated campaign rather than sporadic unrest.

Nigeria has faced years of insecurity driven by armed groups, banditry and insurgent violence across multiple regions. Analysts say the expanding scope of attacks has heightened fears about the country’s capacity to contain the crisis.

Barbir’s remarks come amid renewed calls for stronger security responses and coordinated national action to address the escalating threat
