At least three people are feared dead and several others injured after a passenger train operating along the Warri–Itakpe railway corridor derailed near Agbor in Nigeria’s southern Delta State on Sunday.
Emergency responders, security personnel and local residents rushed to the scene to rescue trapped passengers and evacuate the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Authorities have yet to confirm the death toll, while the number of casualties remains unclear as rescue operations continue.
The cause of the derailment has not been established. Officials have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The Warri–Itakpe standard gauge railway is one of Nigeria’s major rail routes, linking Delta State to Kogi State and serving thousands of passengers travelling between the country’s south and north-central regions.
