The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the commencement of applications for travel agencies interested in obtaining a license and slot allocation for the 2026 Hajj operation. Interested agencies must submit their applications before the September 15th, 2025 deadline.

In a statement released on Wednesday, NAHCON informed registered travel agencies about the initiation of the application process, urging those interested to apply for the license and allocation slots. The Hajj Commission reiterated that no extensions will be allowed for any of the deadlines, emphasizing that Saudi authorities have set strict rules for the Hajj process.

Travel agencies seeking to participate must meet certain corporate, regulatory, and financial requirements. To be eligible, agencies must be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), hold a minimum share capital of N30 million, and possess International Air Transport Association (IATA) approval. Agencies must also demonstrate a history of satisfactory Umrah or Hajj services, including evidence of the use of their Umrah license.

The Commission made it clear that applicants must not have any criminal convictions in Nigeria or Saudi Arabia, nor any record of violations by regulatory agencies in either country. Successful applicants will be required to submit a licensing fee of N1 million, along with details of their proposed Hajj packages and evidence of confirmed flight and accommodation arrangements.

NAHCON also reminded agencies that their corporate records, including tax clearance and audited accounts, must be up to date. Agencies with unresolved complaints or those that fail to provide accommodation for inspection by December 2025 risk automatic disqualification.

Applications will be reviewed on a transparent basis, with all payments required to be made from corporate accounts. The Commission also highlighted that slot allocations would depend on availability and the agency’s past performance.

The deadline for securing Masha’ir Camp booking in Saudi Arabia is January 4th, 2026.
