Liverpool Football Club has named Simon Wiles as the new head coach for their under-18 team.

The club announced Wiles’ appointment on Friday through an official statement published on its website.

Wiles, 40, joins the Reds from Manchester United’s academy, bringing with him years of experience in both youth development and senior coaching roles.

He replaces Marc Bridge-Wilkinson, who recently left the position after a notable spell with the youth side.

“Simon is a highly regarded young coach and I’m delighted he’s agreed to take a key role within the Academy as lead for the U18s group,” said Alex Inglethorpe, Liverpool’s Academy Director.

Wiles has worked with several English clubs over the years, including stints at Wigan and Salford City. His return to youth football marks a key investment by Liverpool in nurturing the next generation of talent.

Liverpool’s U18s compete in the U18 Premier League, serving as a vital stepping stone for players hoping to break into the senior squad.
