The 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season is set to begin on Friday, August 22, 2025, with a thrilling match between defending champions Remo Stars FC and Rivers United FC. The game will take place at Remo Stars Stadium at 4:00 pm, marking the start of what promises to be an action-packed football season.

This marks the 54th edition of the NPFL and the 36th since the league was professionalized. With 20 teams ready to compete, the upcoming season is expected to be one of the most competitive in recent years.
