Senator Ned Nwoko has made a passionate appeal to the public, particularly bloggers, social media commentators, and fans of his wife, Regina Daniels, to afford her the necessary “breathing space” to recover from ongoing health challenges.

In a statement issued on his behalf, the lawmaker emphasized that the appeal is made not only for her sake, but also for the well-being of their children, who need a supportive and loving environment.

“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers, and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space,” Senator Nwoko stated.

“I make this appeal not just for her sake, but also for the sake of the kids, who are very well cared for and deserve to see their mother supported, loved, and given every opportunity to get better.”

He noted that the Nollywood actress has endured significant private struggles that the public may not fully realize, adding that a recent video shared on her birthday offered only a glimpse into her health battles.

“As someone who knows what she has been through, I can tell you that this is not a time to judge, vilify, or add to her burdens. It is a time to show compassion and allow her the opportunity to heal. Regardless of the difficulties we have faced, her well-being has always mattered to me. It is, in fact, the very concern that brought much of our private situation into the public domain,” he added.

The Senator expressed deep concern over the proliferation of fake news, particularly fabricated reports regarding her health and false death announcements circulated online for clicks and engagement. He warned that these malicious publications are deeply distressing to Regina and severely hinder her recovery process.

“I am particularly concerned about the circulation of false and disturbing reports about her, including fabricated death announcements, misleading stories, and other hurtful content. These things are not harmless social media engagement. Regina sees many of these posts, and they are deeply distressing,” Nwoko warned.

“I appeal to her fans, who genuinely care about her, to help discourage this behavior instead of amplifying it.”

Drawing a firm line against cyber harassment and the spreading of falsehoods, the lawmaker threatened legal action against perpetrators hiding behind social media handles to exploit his wife’s situation.

“Let me make this very clear: I will not tolerate the deliberate spread of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports about her death, health, or personal circumstances. Those hiding behind social media accounts to invent stories, mislead the public, and exploit her situation for clicks and engagement should stop immediately,” he cautioned.

“We are documenting these publications, and anyone found responsible will be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels. There is a limit to what should be tolerated, and that limit has been reached. Regina deserves the opportunity to recover without being subjected to a fresh wave of fabricated stories every day.”
