Former Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has disclosed that political differences within his own household became evident during Nigeria’s fiercely contested 2023 presidential election.

Speaking on Arise News on Tuesday night, Kwankwaso recounted how even members of his family urged him to align with Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate at the time.

“Even during the 2023 elections, in my own house, my daughter was telling me to go and work with Peter Obi,” he said.

The remarks offer a rare glimpse into the personal and political pressures surrounding the 2023 race, which reshaped Nigeria’s opposition politics and drew unprecedented youth engagement across the country.

Kwankwaso, who contested the election under the banner of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), remains a key figure in ongoing conversations around opposition unity and potential political realignments ahead of future elections.
