The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Finance, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has vehemently denied reports claiming his involvement in a purported “one-term agreement” regarding the governance of Kogi State.
In a strongly worded statement released on [Insert Day], Faleke debunked a publication by an online news platform, *TrackNews*, which alleged that the Presidency had directed former Governor Yahaya Bello and the incumbent, Governor Usman Ododo, to honor a single-term pact involving Faleke.
Refuting the claims, the lawmaker, who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency, stated that he was never a party to any such arrangement, whether directly or indirectly.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I state unequivocally that I never had any discussion, nor was I privy to any conversation, arrangement, or agreement regarding a one-term deal in Kogi State or any related matter,” the statement read.
Faleke further clarified that since the report was published, he has been “inundated with numerous calls and text messages seeking clarification” from concerned stakeholders and the public.
Describing the report as a “fabrication” designed to mislead, the ranking lawmaker urged the public to disregard the story in its entirety, maintaining that it lacks any factual basis.
Faleke, a prominent figure in Kogi and Lagos politics, currently serves as a high-ranking member of the House of Representatives and holds the prestigious national honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
