The Kebbi State Government has officially announced that the highly anticipated Argungu International Fishing Festival will hold from February 11 to 14, 2026.

The festival, which is one of Nigeria’s most prominent cultural and tourism events, draws participants and spectators from across the country and around the world. Known for its spectacular fishing contests, traditional performances, and vibrant celebrations, the event is a major driver of local tourism and economic activity.

In a statement, officials said preparations for the festival are underway, with safety measures and logistical arrangements being prioritised to ensure a smooth and successful celebration.

“The Argungu Festival is not just a showcase of our fishing heritage, but also a celebration of the culture, unity, and resilience of the people of Kebbi State,” the statement added.
