Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has secured a major investment proposal from Precious Metals Tswane (PMT), one of South Africa’s foremost precious metal refineries, to establish a cutting-edge aggregation and processing centre in Kaduna State. The project will be undertaken in partnership with the Kaduna Mining Development Company (KMDC).
The proposal was formally presented on the margins of the ongoing G20 Summit in Johannesburg and places strong emphasis on technology transfer, capacity-building for artisanal miners, and the adoption of a sustainable, ESG-compliant mining framework.
Welcoming the initiative, Governor Sani said: “Kaduna remains firmly open to credible investors who bring technical expertise, responsible practices, and a commitment to long-term value creation for our people.”
The proposed facility is poised to position Kaduna as a regional hub for responsible precious-metals processing, while offering structured support and fair pricing to thousands of local artisanal miners.
