Rep Leke Abejide, who represents Yagba Federal Constituency in Kogi State on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform, said on Thursday he will leave the party if the faction led by Sen. David Mark wins in court.
Speaking on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” Abejide—loyal to the Nafiu Bala group—said his side has little appetite to work with the rival camp. He complained of open hostility and sees no room for reconciliation after a legal fight. If things go south, he admits, the All Progressives Congress (APC) looks tempting.
“APC is the only stable party in Nigeria; nobody wants to contest on a ticket that could be overturned in court tomorrow,” he said.
He urged the Mark-led group to shelve its planned convention and seek a political fix, warning that a court battle could end the same way the nullified PDP convention in Ibadan did.

Earlier, Abejide joined the Bala faction’s protest at INEC headquarters in Abuja. There, he insisted Bala never resigned from the National Executive Committee (NEC), contrary to claims by the other side.
“Nwosu resigned without notice. There was no meeting. The new national chairman you see behind me is the only NEC member who didn’t resign. They’re forging papers, but I know he never stepped down,” he said.
With both factions digging in and talks dead, the courts will likely decide which group—Mark’s or Bala’s—gets the ADC ticket.
