Idoma get together as HAM people end 2024 with cultural display

The Idoma community in Uke Bus Stop of Karshi Development Area,Karu LGA in Nasarawa State marked the 2024 end of year with cultural display.

The nostalgic ethnic group did not hide their gratitude to God and the government of Nasarawa State for a successful sojourn from January to December which according to them was marked with progress, unity as they focuses towards achieving greatness.

The Alapa of Idoma community in the FCT Chief Joseph Okpeke who was visibly present at the Idoma end of year celebration expressed great joy for a successful end of year,he said usually the idoma kick start the activity of meetings from February of each year and closes December with celebration of its successes for that year ending as well as take stock on how to forge on in the coming year.

” So you can see that all sons and daughters of Idoma residing here in Uke are all out to mark this once in year celebration. We also take time to display our cultural dishes,like the Okoho soup ,cultural dances this period with the aim of sustaining our cultural inheritance” Chief Okpeke posited.

Speaking, an elder ,Chief Abu Alexander hailed the Idoma community in Uke Bus Stop for sustaining the unity and progress of the meetings from January to December,which is instrumental to the end of year party as it has significant footprint on the upcoming Idoma youth in every society they find themselves

Earlier,the acting chairman,Mr John Isaiah who doubles as the legal advisor of the Idoma community in Karshi of Karu LGA of Nasarawa State, revealed that the celebration of the end of year was designed purposefully to foster unity and progress against diversityof any kind .

” What you have witness today is a deliberate efforts from individuals who have decided that being in peace with one another leads to progress and once there is progress,you can be assured of long life.

” Let me also emphasize here too that the journey under my administration has not come without challenges, especially in terms of financing the progress of this association ,there is a name in my native tongue” Ojefeje” meaning human lives is valued more than money. So we have always struggled to meet each others needs” He added.

The HAM speaking tribe from kaduna State were also not left out of the celebration of the end of year in Uke Bus Stop of Karshi Development Area, Karu local government area,just as the Ohaneze,an igbo association,they gathered in their numbers to share and celebrated the end of year peaceful life.
