Violence erupted in parts of Kano State after thugs reportedly numbering in their hundreds launched coordinated attacks on several communities, leaving residents injured and properties destroyed.

Eyewitnesses said the assailants stormed the affected areas in large groups, setting ablaze local bakeries and the residence of a ward head, while unleashing fear and chaos among residents. The attacks, which occurred late in the day, forced many families to flee their homes to seek safety.

Several residents sustained injuries during the violence, although the exact number of casualties has yet to be confirmed. Community members described the scenes as terrifying, with thick smoke billowing from burning buildings and residents scrambling to salvage what they could.

Local sources said the motive behind the attacks remains unclear, but security agencies have been alerted and are said to be investigating the incident. Efforts are also reportedly underway to restore calm and prevent further escalation.
