The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced that it has registered more than one million members in Katsina State, marking a major boost to its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party said the milestone reflects growing public confidence in its ideology and leadership, particularly among youths, women and professionals across the state. According to the ADC, the surge in membership was achieved through sustained ward-to-ward mobilisation, community engagement and the strengthening of its party structures at the local government level.
Speaking on the development, a senior party official in Katsina described the registration figure as “a clear indication that voters are seeking a credible alternative” to the dominant political parties. He noted that the ADC is positioning itself as a platform for good governance, accountability and inclusive development.
The party further stated that it has completed the reorganisation of its state and local government executives, adding that internal cohesion and discipline would be key to translating its growing membership into electoral success.
ADC leaders also emphasised their commitment to peaceful politics, issue-based campaigns and adherence to democratic principles as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
