Celebrity chef and culinary sensation, Hilda Baci, has officially received her second Guinness World Record plaque, this time for cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.

The record, confirmed by Guinness World Records, recognised Baci’s feat of preparing 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice during a massive cookout held in Lagos in September.

This latest achievement comes barely a year after her first record-breaking accomplishment in May 2023, when she completed a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, an event that captured global attention and cemented her name in culinary history.

Sharing her excitement on social media, Hilda expressed gratitude and pride over her dual recognition. “Your plaques are finally here! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria,” she wrote.

She continued, “And not just any records — two of the biggest culinary records ever set. Together with Gino, we created something bigger than ourselves — a story that reached over 5 billion people and reminded the world what’s possible when passion meets purpose. I’m a two-time world record holder, someone pinch me.”

Baci also reflected on her journey, drawing strength from scripture. “A two-time Guinness World Record holder! Instead of your shame, you will receive a double portion… and everlasting joy will be yours. Isaiah 61:7,” she added.

The Guinness team confirmed that every portion of the record-breaking dish was distributed to guests and charitable organisations, ensuring the event met all humanitarian and verification standards.

Her recognition makes her Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records, further solidifying her influence in Africa’s growing culinary scene.

Hilda’s extraordinary feat, supported by her brand partner Gino, has become a source of national pride, celebrating creativity, perseverance, and the unifying power of food.
