Siminalayi Fubara has dismissed speculation surrounding his alleged defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that he remains committed to the party despite widespread rumours circulating across media platforms.
“I’m a member of the APC, and nothing has changed. Whatever happens, what is important is supporting the overall interest of the party,” the governor said while reacting to reports claiming he had joined the National Democratic Coalition (NDC).
The clarification comes amid heightened political tensions and growing speculation over possible realignments ahead of future electoral contests in Nigeria.
Political observers say the rumours had triggered intense reactions within party circles, with many questioning the potential impact such a move could have on existing alliances and internal party dynamics.
Fubara’s remarks appear aimed at quelling uncertainty and reaffirming his political allegiance, as debates over defections and coalition-building continue to shape Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
