In a recent address in Abeokuta, Ogun State, former President Olusegun Obasanjo called on the Federal Government to heed the demands and concerns of Nigerian youths, which sparked nationwide protests. He emphasized that their demands are legitimate and should not be taken lightly, warning of severe consequences if ignored.
Obasanjo highlighted the plight of frustrated, desperate, angry, and unemployed youths, stressing the need for urgent attention to their concerns. He emphasized that Nigeria’s progress hinges on collective effort and a change in the mentality of those in governance.
The former President made these remarks while hosting six National Assembly members who are co-sponsoring a bill proposing a single six-year presidential term and rotation between the North and South. His call to action underscores the importance of addressing youth concerns and fostering inclusive governance.
