Governor Peter Mbah has congratulated Muslims nationwide on Eid-el-Kabir, urging unity, tolerance, sacrifice and hope among Nigerians.

In his goodwill message on Tuesday, Mr Mbah also encouraged charity and solidarity, particularly toward vulnerable and less privileged citizens across the country.

“On the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, I extend warm felicitations to our Muslim brothers and sisters in Enugu state and across Nigeria,” he said.

He described the festival as a sacred celebration of faith, sacrifice and devotion to God, with enduring lessons for humanity.

According to Mr Mbah, Eid-el-Kabir highlights sacrifice as the foundation of genuine service to God and humanity.

“It calls to mind the profound blessings in patience, obedience, trust and unwavering faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim,” the governor stated.

He said the virtues remained timeless lessons capable of guiding Nigerians through present political and economic challenges.

“At a time of important political and economic transitions, the significance of this celebration becomes even more profound,” Mr Mbah said.

He urged Nigerians to embrace shared humanity, stressing that national progress depends on unity, peace, compassion and mutual respect.

“Let us be reminded that our collective progress depends on our ability to uphold unity, peace and compassion above all divisions,” he added.

Mr Mbah said the season offered another opportunity for citizens to recommit themselves to tolerance, sacrifice and solidarity for the common good.

“As we celebrate, I urge all citizens to continue praying for the peace, stability and prosperity of our dear state and nation,” he said.

He also appealed for harmony and cooperation in building a society founded on justice, opportunity and shared progress.

“Let us continue to work together in harmony to build a society defined by justice, opportunity and shared progress for all,” Mr Mbah added.
