The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed the arrest and investigation of one of its operatives, Ifeanyi Onyewuenyi, following allegations of abducting and sexually exploiting a 16-year-old girl. The arrest follows a court order from a Magistrate Court in Hadejia, Jigawa State, prompted by a petition from the victim’s father through the Gamji Lawchain group of lawyers.
The operative is accused of kidnapping Walida Ibrahim two years ago, holding her in unlawful detention, and forcing her to convert from Islam to Christianity before marrying her. The petition also alleges that the girl gave birth while still a minor. In an official statement, DSS spokesperson Favour Dozier clarified the operative’s identity and emphasized that such actions violate the agency’s code of conduct. The DSS has promised that the results of the ongoing investigation will be made public.
