General Christopher Musa, the nominee for Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, has pledged to prioritise the nation’s security, promising to do his utmost to ensure the country remains safe and protected.
Speaking during his ongoing screening at the National Assembly on Tuesday, Gen Musa emphasised his commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s defence capabilities and addressing the evolving security challenges facing the country.
“I pledge to do my best to ensure that Nigeria is secure and safe,” he told senators, highlighting his determination to work closely with the armed forces, intelligence agencies, and other security stakeholders to restore peace and stability across all regions.
Senators are expected to thoroughly assess Gen Musa’s qualifications, experience, and vision for the Ministry of Defence before making a final decision on his confirmation. Analysts say his appointment could mark a significant step in the government’s efforts to tackle insecurity and insurgency across Nigeria.
