Nigerian star David Adeleke—better known as Davido—has stretched his Grammy losing streak to 0-5 after coming up short in Sunday night’s 68th annual Grammy Awards at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.

Davido’s collaboration with Omah Lay, “With You,” was up for Best African Music Performance but lost to South African singer Tyla’s “PUSH 2 START.” The category also included Burna Boy’s “Love,” Ayra Starr & Wizkid’s “Gimme Dat,” and “Hope & Love” by Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin.

The Recording Academy handed out trophies in nearly 100 fields during the three-hour show, hosted by Trevor Noah and airing live on CBS and Paramount+. Sabrina Carpenter, Bruno Mars, and Lady Gaga were among the night’s performers.

Sunday’s shutout continues a frustrating Grammy run for Davido. At the 2024 ceremony, he went home empty-handed after nominations in three categories: Best Global Music Album (Timeless), Best African Music Performance (“Unavailable” with Musa Keys), and Best Global Music Performance (“Feel”). In 2025, his team-up with Chris Brown and Lojay, “Sensational,” lost the Best African Music Performance award to Tems’ “Love Me JeJe.”
