A Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja, has admitted nine documentary exhibits in the ongoing trial of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, alongside members of his family.

The court, presided over by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, accepted the documents tendered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as part of its prosecution in the case.

Malami, his wife and son are facing an amended 16-count charge bordering on alleged money laundering involving 8.7 billion naira.

The prosecution told the court that the exhibits form part of its efforts to establish the financial trail linked to the charges. Defence counsel did not immediately object to the admissibility of the documents during proceedings.

The case has been adjourned for continuation of trial, as the court is expected to hear further evidence in the coming sessions.
