Count Me Out: Faleke Denies Co-Sponsoring “Indigenous Bill,” Urges Public to Disregard False Claims

Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, OON, Member of the House of Representatives for Ikeja Federal Constituency, has categorically denied involvement as a co-sponsor of the controversial “Indigenous Bill” currently under consideration at the National Assembly. In a public statement released today, Faleke urged the public to disregard what he described as “unfounded claims” circulating widely on social media platforms.

Addressing the numerous tags and mentions linked to his name regarding the proposed legislation, Faleke stated firmly, “Let me state categorically that I am not a co-sponsor of the Bill. Any suggestion to the contrary is entirely false and misleading.”

The lawmaker further expressed his opposition to the bill, adding, “I do not support the Bill, and I believe it stands no chance of being ratified by the states. It is, therefore, unreasonable to suggest that I would align myself with such a proposal.”

Concluding his statement, Faleke advised Nigerians to “disregard these unfounded claims and remain guided by verified facts.”
