The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, visited the Andoma of Doma, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr. Ahmadu Aliyu Ogga Onawo, at his palace in Doma, Nasarawa State, on Friday, 9 October 2026. The visit aimed to reinforce military-civil relations and bolster collaboration for national security.
General Shaibu, who was in Doma for the graduation of the elite Special Forces Battalion, highlighted the vital role traditional leaders play in intelligence gathering, early warning systems, and building community trust. He thanked the Kingdom for its hospitality and noted that a “whole-of-society” approach is essential to overcoming today’s security challenges.
In his remarks, the Andoma of Doma commended the COAS for his leadership and for establishing the Nigerian Army Special Forces School in the Kingdom, which he described as a major asset to the community. The monarch pledged the continued support of his people to the Nigerian Army and offered prayers for peace and stability across the nation.
