Chelsea Football Club could be preparing for another major summer shake-up as talks around the potential exit of striker Nicolas Jackson continue to gather momentum.
Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that “several clubs have started to move for Nicolas Jackson” and that his departure from Stamford Bridge is becoming an increasingly realistic possibility before the current window closes.
Jackson, who joined the Blues from Villarreal in the summer of 2023, has endured a mixed spell at the club. Despite flashes of promise, inconsistency in front of goal and mounting competition for attacking places have led to widespread speculation over his future.
Romano explained that “AC Milan deal [is] currently off, price too high and no intention to proceed,” adding that Premier League clubs are now making “initial approaches” for the Senegalese forward. This has raised eyebrows across fan communities, particularly as Chelsea remain active in pursuing reinforcements upfront.
According to a recent poll conducted by journalist Simon Phillips on his Substack platform, a significant 93% of Chelsea supporters would support Jackson’s sale this summer if a suitable offer is tabled — a strong indication of shifting sentiment around the striker’s role in the team’s future.
“I’ve been saying all summer that I think Nicolas Jackson gets sold,” Phillips noted, reiterating that interest in the 23-year-old is growing as the window enters its final phase.
Chelsea’s transfer business has already seen the club linked with a number of attacking options, including a bold attempt to rival Arsenal in the race to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze. The club has also reportedly contacted Manchester City for the potential signing of another player from the treble winners a move reminiscent of last summer’s high-profile swoops.
