Chelsea have tightened the Premier League title race after defeating Burnley 2–0 on Saturday, moving to within three points of leaders Arsenal.

Pedro Neto opened the scoring with a diving header late in the first half, before Enzo Fernandez sealed the result with a close-range finish in the 88th minute at Turf Moor.

The victory pushes Chelsea to second place ahead of a crucial week that includes a Champions League clash with Barcelona on Tuesday and a top-of-the-table meeting with Arsenal on November 30.

Speaking after the match, manager Enzo Maresca praised his team’s resilience, saying “it’s always a hard game” in Burnley but added that he was “very happy” with the way his players competed.

Chelsea were forced to play without Cole Palmer, who fractured his toe after an earlier groin injury kept him out for two months. Moises Caicedo also started on the bench after returning late from international duty.

Burnley’s problems deepened as the defeat marked their fifth loss in seven league matches, leaving them just above the relegation zone.

The win marks Chelsea’s eighth victory in ten matches across all competitions, boosting their momentum as the title race gathers pace.
