British High Commissioner to Nigeria, alongside Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, paid a goodwill visit to heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua at a Lagos hospital on Monday.

Joshua, who has been in Nigeria for a private medical check-up, received the high-profile guests in what officials described as a show of support and solidarity for the two-time world champion.

During the visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended Joshua for consistently projecting Nigeria positively on the global stage, noting that the state was proud of his achievements and resilience. Governor Abiodun echoed the sentiment, describing Joshua as a symbol of determination and a role model to millions of young Nigerians.

The British High Commissioner also conveyed well-wishes from the UK, emphasising Joshua’s strong ties to both nations and highlighting the boxer’s influence as a global sports ambassador.

Hospital officials confirmed that Joshua is in stable condition and is expected to be discharged soon.

Neither Joshua’s camp nor the hospital provided further details regarding his medical treatment, but the visit drew significant public interest and praise across social media.
