Borno school abduction: Ndume urges tougher security after 42 NECO candidates kidnapped

A senior Nigerian lawmaker, Senator Ali Ndume, has called on the federal government to intensify security operations following the abduction of 42 candidates sitting the National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations in Borno State.

Ndume described the incident as another stark reminder of the persistent insecurity in Nigeria’s north-east, urging authorities to take decisive action to rescue the students and prevent further attacks on schools. He stressed that safeguarding lives and ensuring uninterrupted access to education must remain a national priority.
