Birnin Kebbi – A Kebbi State Police officer has rejected a N1.06 million bribe offered by suspects linked to banditry activities in the state.
The Command’s spokesperson, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement, three suspects – Umaru Garba, Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji Mamman, and Usman Muhammadu – attempted to bribe the lead investigator of a banditry case at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
The suspects were immediately arrested and are now facing charges.
Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M Sani, commended the officer’s integrity and urged other officers to emulate his professionalism.
CP Sani reiterated the Command’s commitment to combating banditry and ensuring the safety and security of all residents in Kebbi State.
