Atiku Slams Tinubu Administration over Insecurity, Economic Hardship

Former Vice-President and 2027 presidential hopeful under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has lambasted the President Bola Tinubu administration over the worsening state of national security and the biting economic hardship faced by Nigerians.

In a statement released on Thursday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku described the Presidency’s recent attempts to blame the media for the country’s current challenges as a “dangerous exercise in denial.”

Atiku noted that it was insulting for the administration to attack the media rather than confront the reality of millions of Nigerians struggling to survive.

“The latest comments from the Presidency reveal a disturbing disconnect between the governors and the governed,” Atiku stated. “Nigerians are enduring one of the most difficult periods in our recent history. Instead of acknowledging their pain, the government is attempting to persuade citizens that their experience is an illusion created by the media.”
