The All Progressives Congress (APC) has projected that its ongoing electronic membership registration exercise could surpass nine million members within just two weeks, according to the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru.

Speaking on Monday during a press briefing on behalf of National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Basiru disclosed that more than two million Nigerians had already registered within the first week of the exercise.

“We are happy to inform Nigerians that just a week into the exercise, those who have registered as members of the APC are already over two million,” Basiru said.

He added that the party anticipates a sharp increase in registrations in the coming days. “We envisage that by the time we make another assessment next week, we should have 8-9 million registered members,” he said.

Basiru also highlighted that the exercise aims to ensure accurate data collection, which is crucial for strengthening the party’s operational efficiency. He warned that any state found lagging behind in the registration process may see a change in its coordinator, as empowered by the National Working Committee.

The APC’s digital membership drive is part of broader efforts to modernise party operations and expand grassroots engagement across Nigeria.
